Highguard was developed by Wildlight Entertainment, a new studio founded by former Respawn developers who worked on Apex Legends and Titanfall, and was announced today at the Game Awards.
Described as a new take on the first-person shooter genre, the game is a “PvP raid shooter” featuring elements borrowed from hero shooters and tower defense games. There’s a lot going on, including ultimate abilities, horseback riding, and destructive elements.
The game is reportedly in intensive development with a lot of gameplay shown and a release date of January 26th.
From the creators of Apex Legends and Titanfall comes Highguard. A PvP raid shooter in which players ride, fight, and raid as the Warden, an esoteric gunslinger sent to fight for control of a mythical continent. There, they clash with rival Warden crews for ownership of the Shield Breaker, infiltrating and destroying enemy bases and securing territory in this all-new type of shooter.
High Guard will be free to play when it launches on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation5 on January 26, 2026
