Who’s on the Challengers?
At the center of this gripping drama is Tashi Duncan, played with shocking intensity by the versatile Zendaya. Once a tennis prodigy, Tashi traded her racket for her coach’s clipboard and channeled her fierce determination and fortitude into developing the next generation of athletes. But as the wife of a champion, she finds herself in a downward spiral, navigating a whirlpool of emotions and decisions that will either save or destroy her husband’s career.
Mike Feist, known for his role in West Side Story, plays the husband of Tashi, a once-glorified champion who struggles with his waning abilities on the court. When Patrick, played by Josh O’Connor of The Crown fame, confronts his past, his journey to redemption takes an unexpected turn. Once friends and rivals, their reunion exposes them to unresolved tensions and buried emotions, forcing them to confront the choices they’ve made and the paths they’ve taken.
“My first reaction to the script was that I loved it,” Josh told WHO at the film’s premiere in Sydney. “The dialogue is incredible and Justin is a very talented writer.
