EXCLUSIVE: Filipino film Hello, Love, Again, the sequel to 2019 box office hit Hello, Love, Goodbye, will be released in U.S. and Canadian theaters on November 15.
Hello Love Goodbye was the highest-grossing film in Philippine history, but it was surpassed this year by Rewind, which grossed nearly $17 million at the global box office.
Hello, Love, Again is expected to be shown in 200 to 250 theaters on its opening day, and North American distributor Abramorama says the film will have the widest North American release ever for a Filipino film. He states that he is deaf.
The sequel, directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, will see Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards reprising their roles.
Hello, Love, Again is also the first collaboration on film between long-time industry rivals ABS-CBN’s film production company Star Cinema and GMA Network’s film production company GMA Pictures. Parent companies ABS-CBN and GMA have collaborated on several television series as part of a broader content production partnership.
Hello, Love, Again takes place five years after Joy (played by Bernardo) bids farewell to Ethan (played by Richards) and Hong Kong to pursue her dreams in Canada.
After fighting for love to overcome the time, distance, and global closure that separated them, Joy and Ethan reunite in Canada, only to discover that they have also changed significantly as individuals. While rediscovering each other, they navigate the complexities of their new lives and find romance and connection amidst the changes.
The screenplay for Hello, Love, Again was written by Carmi Raimundo and Cristal S. San Miguel, based on a story by Raymundo, San Miguel, and Olivia Lamasan.
Hello, Love, Again was produced by Kookai Labayen and executive produced by Kriz Gazmen, Annette Gozon, and Carlo Katibak.
