Havana Brown and Stephanie Wood face surprise elimination after a tough battle on The Amazing Race Australia Celebrity Edition. Discover what went wrong.
On Monday night’s episode of The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition on Channel 10, viewers witnessed an emotional twist in the fifth leg as the remaining seven teams raced through Soweto, South Africa.
Host Beau Ryan surprised the teams with a virtual pit stop, giving them a brief respite by signaling that the race should continue immediately rather than being eliminated.

Without delay, the team headed to Magaliesberg, where they encountered their next challenge: the detour. This gave them a choice between two tasks: ‘high kick’ or ‘paint slick’.
“Paint Slick” tested contestants’ memory and accuracy as they recreated a detailed design of lines, dots and colors painted on a container. “High Kick”, on the other hand, required physical ability and required the team to master a Zulu tribal dance.
While many celebrities struggle with the athleticism required to complete the dance, Havana Brown and Stephanie Wood executed the dance flawlessly on their first attempt, securing an early lead.
The team then decided to head to a nearby nature reserve and rest for the night. This included the opportunity to feed breakfast to the local wildlife the next morning. After a brief respite filled with campfire songs and barbecue, the race resumed with a daunting road block.
For this mission, only one team member was allowed to participate, excavating the ruins in search of a complete set of human teeth.
Unfortunately for Havana and Steph, their luck ran out here. Despite early success, Steph struggled to find her final tooth and the team fell behind. They were both eliminated from the race as they were the last to arrive at the pit stop.

Reflecting on their loss, Steph said:
“I felt a little hopeless, but once we reconciled, we were still there together and having a great time…Everything happens for a reason and when our turn comes , it just means we ended on a high, it was a great experience and it worked out well!”
She added with a laugh:
“I’ve never been afraid of going to the dentist. But I feel like I might have a nightmare the next time I go to the dentist.”
While appearing on the show, Havana and Steph competed for The Salvation Army Melbourne 614, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals facing homelessness, mental health struggles, addiction and social exclusion. Ta. The two spoke passionately about the reason. Steph pointed out:
“With continued cost of living pressures, people imagine what a ‘depressed’ person is like and what they’ve been through, when in reality it can happen to anyone. …Anyone can be on the street at any point in their life, and I think people forget that.”
Havana added:
“Many people experiencing homelessness feel isolated, but this is a place where they can feel part of a community… respected and not invisible. There is.”
She praised the work of Melbourne 614 in fostering hope and dignity.
Havana Brown and Stephanie Wood are eliminated, but the race continues with the remaining celebrity teams.
‘The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition’ airs Sundays at 7pm and Mondays at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10 Play.
