Rockstar dropped the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 yesterday, and there was a lot of skepticism about what the game is running and whether it’s in-game or CGI, but Rockstar came out to see how to create the trailer.
On Twitter, Rockstar posted that the second trailer was captured entirely in-game from the PS5 (which is expected to be the base PS5) and consisted of equal parts of gameplay and cutscene.

The second part is especially interesting considering that I thought it was all in-game, but it’s interesting to know that half of the trailer has gameplay.
Obviously the HUD is invisible, but there are not many trailers that look like gameplay from past GTA games. There are multiple parts when there is a view of the over-shoulder view behind Jason and Lucia, or gameplay of the vehicle, which assumes it is from the gameplay component.
Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released on May 26, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X | s. Rockstar lifted the lid yesterday to a ton of information, including all the locations in the game, the main characters, and more than 70 screenshots you can find here.
