Grand Theft Auto 6 won’t come until next year, but with Rockstar reportedly scheduled to release the game on Modern Consoles later this year, Grand Theft Auto 4 may finally be able to play again.
Niko’s journey is locked to the PS3/Xbox 360 generation, but it is said that Taht Rockstar may be working on bringing the game to the latest platform later this year. The platform wasn’t specific, but it’s speculated that this could be a PS5, Xbox Series X | s, in addition to Nintendo Switch and potentially final-generation consoles.
Interestingly, Rockstar recently defeated the LCPP Mod, further promoting the world of Liberty City further speculation about the return of Liberty City in GTA 4.
It’s also said that the Max Payne 3 port could follow the remake of Max Payne 1 and 2, so it appears there’s a lot of Rockstar good after the last decade or so.
According to Tez, the long-established GTAIV port appears to be in development for the current console, per his source.

Grand Theft Auto 4 was released in 2008, held in Liberty City, and also had two-storey expansions in The Lost and The Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to be released on May 26th, 2026.
