Good Omens viewers will see more of the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley, but far less than originally planned. Prime Video has renewed the series for a third and final season in December 2023.
Michael Sheen, David Tennant, Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton, Reece Shearsmith, Niamh Walsh, Derek Jacobi, Maggie Service, Queryn Sepulveda and Shelley Conn star in Terry Pratchett’s novel He has appeared in the inspired series Good Omens. The story follows the adventures of the noisy angel Aziraphale (Sheen) and the fast-living demon Crowley (Tennant).
It was revealed that the final season will consist of one 90 minute episode. This news comes after production on Season 3 was halted after creator Neil Gaiman left the project.
Deadline revealed the following about Gaiman’s departure:
Gaiman contributed to the script for the series finale, but will not be involved in producing it, and his production company, Blank Corporation, is not involved. A new screenwriter is expected to finish the film, but sources say no deal has been finalized yet.
Production on the 90-minute episodes will begin in Scotland in early 2025, with a premiere date to be announced at a later date.
