Netflix officially launched its production with the second season of Gentlemen. This is a series inspired by Guy Ritchie’s 2019 film of the same name, and does so with the addition of a new cast.
The returning stars will be joined by British screen legend Hugh Bonneville and Love Island host Maya Jama.
Ongoing in season 2
As the cameras roll, in Season 2, Eddie Horniman (Theo James) and Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario) deepen the hold of the Glass Sin Empire, navigating the more relaxed ocean. “We’re happy to be back on set for Gentleman’s Season 2,” said creator and director Guy Ritchie in a statement on the Netflix site Tudum. “In this chapter, we intentionally expand geographically and thematically as we travel from the British countryside to Italian lakes. Eddie and Susie are navigating an increasingly unstable empire as they are surrounded in all respects by an influx of enigmatic new players.”
The core trio is back
Theo James, Kaya Scodelario and Daniel Ins (playing Eddie’s Chaos-loving brother Freddie) are back in the eight-episode sophomore run. Ray Winstone is also a dangerous and unpredictable Bobby Glass. Richie and co-writer Matthew Reid are writing the script again, and Richie is back in the director’s chair.
Discussing the central dynamics between Eddie and Susie, James messed with: “I think they have come to love each other in their own way, but I don’t think they’ll trust each other completely because they are so different and they come from such a very different world.
Criminal folding new face
In Season 2, several new players will showcase the trajectory of Glass Empire. Among them was Downton Abbey and I came to Hugh Bonneville, and Maya Jama, who stepped into a rare acting role following his popular stint as host of Love Island UK.
