Hidetaka Miyazaki, the popular president of From Software, spoke about the future of the Elden Ring brand at the PlayStation Partner Awards.
The relentlessly punitive director of both Elden Ring and its DLC was on hand to accept the award for Shadow of the Ardtree, Elden Ring’s major expansion released earlier this year.
In a statement reported by IGN Japan, Miyazaki confirmed that the From team is not currently considering developing Elden Ring 2.
That said, he also admitted that multiple teams at From Software are working on the project, some of which he is directly working on.
However, while Elden Ring 2 is not in From Software’s immediate future, Miyazaki ruled out a return to Land Between, stating that “this IP could develop in some way in the future.” I didn’t.
Whether it shows up as a separate game, a film or TV adaptation, or something else entirely remains to be seen.
Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree are, without a doubt, the most successful projects that FromSoftware has produced.
Both games have been nominated for Game of the Year in their respective The Game Award nominations, but the latter has proven to be controversial.
