Lindsay Lohan returned behind the microphone. The original Freakier Friday soundtrack was officially dropped, and provided fans with a fresh track ahead of the film’s theatrical release. The album features new recordings from the cast, including Rohan himself, as well as a rocking cover of “ultimate” by the Canadian band The Beach.
In the much-anticipated sequel, Rohan and Jamie Lee Curtis return as Anna and Tess Coleman, once again trading life and music for generations.
Lohan revisits “Singing the Baby”, Pink Slip Nostalgia
Among the highlights is “Baby,” an original song played by Rohan and co-star Julia Butter, as well as an acoustic version of Rohan. The track was co-written by Sarah Aarons, known for his work with artists such as Zedd, Alessia Cara and Maren Morris.
Christina Vidal Mitchell recreates her role from the 2003 film, leading a new version of “Take Me Away” with the fictional band Pink Slip. The track is produced by Suzy Shinn (who has dealt with panic in Panic, Weezer, Dua Lipa and more).
Beach lends the sound to a new cover of “Ultimate,” a character from the pop-punk national anthem, Rohan, which was played in the credits of the original film. This is a worthy tribute from the Junho Award-winning group.
Other tracks will feature performances from my lack of Star Star Ramakrishnan and pieces from composer Amie Doherty.
