Prime Video has released a first look image of Spider Noir, giving us an early glimpse of Nicolas Cage stepping into the shadows as a noir-flavored Marvel hero in his first TV role.

Introducing Ben’s world with first look images

Alongside Ben (pictured above), the image set (scroll down to see the rest of the images below) features several key figures from his orbit.

Lamorne Morris plays Robbie Robertson, a journalist trying to carve out a career against the odds in 1930s New York. Loyal to a fault, Robbie’s ambitions seem closely tied to both survival and his friendship with Ben.

Li Jun Li appears as Cat Hardy, a femme fatale nightclub singer who draws Ben deeper into the underworld intrigue that is central to the series. Although the character is firmly rooted in this noir setting, comic book fans may quickly notice that she shares a last name with Felicia Hardy, better known as Black Cat. Whether that connection goes beyond a knowing nod remains to be seen.

Karen Rodriguez plays Janet, Ben’s sharp and difficult secretary. Loyal and quick to the truth, she is seen as someone who is not afraid to challenge her superiors when it matters.

A spider that fell into a town that never lets go

Set in a rain-soaked 1930s New York, Spider Noir follows Ben Reilly (Cage), a down-on-his-luck private investigator who once operated as the city’s masked guardian known simply as “Spider.” After a very personal tragedy, Ben took off his mask. But an unusual incident threatens to pull him back into the life he tried to bury.

The newly released images lean heavily toward a noir vibe, with hard shadows, vintage textures, and the feeling that every room has secrets baked into its walls. Cage’s involvement also comes with a neat footnote on Spider’s history. He previously voiced Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), and this series marks a return to that part of the mythology in a very different way.

Full cast list including guest performers

Prime Video’s cast includes Nicolas Cage (Adaptation, Pig), Lamorne Morris (Fargo, New Girl), Lee Jun Lee (Sinners, Babylon), Karen Rodriguez (Wives of the Hunt, Acap) Abraham Popoola (Atlas, Slow Horses), Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire, Day of the Fight), and Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin, Harry). Potter).

According to Esquire, Huston has been confirmed to play Flint Markco, better known as Sandman, adding a familiar Spider-Man villain to the noir reimagining. Meanwhile, Gleeson plays Silvermane, a New York mafia boss with deep roots in Marvel Comics lore. Within the series, Silvermane is said to be the target of repeated assassination attempts, hinting at a larger plan unfolding behind the scenes.

The guest star lineup includes Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson, and Kai Castor.

There are two viewing options for the show: black and white or full color.

One of the more distinctive creative choices is a dual-format release. Spider Noir will be available to stream in both “true black and white” and “true tonal full color,” allowing viewers to decide whether they want to go full on classic noir or experience the story in color.

Who makes it and where is it streamed?

Spider Noir is produced exclusively by Sony Pictures Television for MGM+ and Prime Video. The series will premiere in the U.S. on MGM+’s linear broadcast channel and then expand globally on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories.

Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag, Killing Eve) will direct and executive produce the first two episodes, with Oren Uziel (Lost City, 22 Jump Street) and Steve Lightfoot (Marvel’s The Punisher, Shantaram) serving as co-showrunners and executive producers. The series was developed with Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal and continues their efforts to expand the Spider-Verse beyond animation.

Lord and Miller will executive produce along with Aditya Sood and Dan Sheer through Lord Miller, and Amy Pascal will also executive produce through Pascal Pictures. Cage and Pavlina Hatupis will also serve as executive producers.

Although the series doesn’t have a specific release date yet, it has been confirmed that Spider Noir is scheduled to be released in fall 2026.
