The final trailer arrived for the Disney Pixar Adventure Elio. This is a new animated film that gives you the most unexpected work on Galaxy. Please see the above for more details.
The story follows 11-year-old Elio (voiced by Yonas Kibreab), a fantasy enthralled with space and science fiction. When he suddenly shines in communication by aliens, some kind of intergalactic UN – he accidentally declared the official ambassador of Earth. It’s worth the big eyes panic, unlikely friendship, and galaxy chaos.
Pixar meets Spielberg and is it a sci-fi horror classic splash?
Elio may be Pixar’s latest family-friendly adventure, but co-directors Domaine Sy (director and co-writer red red) and Madeline Sharaffian (Coco’s story artist, Story Read-on-Reid) have seen an incredibly mature influence. Speaking to Slashfilm, Sharafian said the visual tone was drawn heavily from Steven Spielberg’s classics like ET (even Elio, the lead character’s name, nods to Elliot in ET), and he came across closely from dark genre staples like aliens and things.
“For a visual appearance, I saw them with a fine tooth comb,” explained Sharafian. “We created such a darker, deeper shadow.”
Its moody aesthetic includes classic touches like sparkling mist and dreamy atmosphere. “About that, that dream, we were really excited…it’s the way you feel, not the truth about the film, it’s what you feel.”
Sharafian also revealed that the filmmakers took a live-action approach behind the scenes. “We filmed the film with an anamorphic lens. You can see a little touch of it. There’s a red ring around the light that might shine on you. This is all for the film.”
A story about connections under comedy
Elio may feature quirky aliens and comedic hijinks, but beneath the adventure there is more grounded – loneliness and self-discovery. In an interview with comicbook.com, the filmmakers discussed the emotional core of the story, including how they worked with psychologists to understand childhood grief and isolation.
“What’s important about Elio is that he has a layer,” Sharafian said. “You just look at that tenacious, curious, determined child… so when you can dig a little deeper into his vulnerability… I think you’re ready for something a little heavier.”
Shi added that he spent time on storyboarding various openings before landing in the proper tone.

The cast includes Zoe Saldanya as Elio’s aunt Olga, while Remy Edgar as Groudon, the squishy alien sidekick. The film also features voices from Brad Garrett, Jameela Jamil and Shirley Henderson.
