Ahead of its release later this year, Fable was officially announced this morning at Xbox Developer Direct, with confirmation that it will also launch on day one of PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The first gameplay teaser was released with a deeper dive, revealing that this is not a remake or sequel, but a new beginning for the series. Set in Albion, it combines similar features of the original game, including story and player choices that affect the world around them.
The story revolves around a mysterious stranger who freezes an entire village, and like the older games in the series, there’s humor and comedy amidst the darkness. It’s a completely open world with NPCs with routines and relationships, combat can now blend ranged combat with melee combat, and there are also plenty of creatures from classic fables.
The release date has not been disclosed, but it is expected to be released this spring.
