The behind-the-scenes feature film starring Brad Pitt and directed by Joseph Kosinski has been released for the upcoming racing film F1. This is a three-minute watch of what the filmmakers have promised to be one of the most authentic racing films ever made. See the above and check out the details for more information about the highly anticipated film below.
Apple Original Films and The Makers of Top Gun: Maverick, F1 is the first to jump into the fastest world of F1, with Pitt playing his former driver and making a comeback to the track. He was joined by Damson Idris (snowfall) as a teammate of APXGP, a fictional team competing with real-world Titans on the grid.
Technology: Topped with Maverick’s need for speed
“We can talk about speed, but we wanted the audience to feel that,” Kosinski says. Based on groundbreaking camera technology developed for that Tom Cruise photo, Kosinski and his team are aiming to push the boundaries of Formula 1 even further. “It’s great to get the footage for this story,” he says. At one point in Featureette, the filmmakers show the pits how many cameras the team has placed on the vehicle itself.
Kosinski previously explained that the technology is being used as “next generation from what we did with Top Gun.” Kosinski said in July 2024: (…) Our camera mounts are also designed by Mercedes. The camera is specially designed by Sony. (…) You can now control the movement of the car’s camera. We are not trapped in this kind of fixed position in the top gun. Now you can control panning and focusing in real time while filming the extremely extensive RF network you’ve built around the track. ”
Lewis Hamilton is impressed and unprecedented access
The film features an ace on the sleeve, featuring seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton as producer. Hamilton is deeply involved in ensuring the authenticity of the film and is brightened up when he talks about the project. “Today, honestly, I feel like a kid. When I see Brad at work, the cast is incredible.” Hamilton brings insider knowledge of the world of racing. And according to the man himself, “Formula 1 movies are the same as real racing movies.” It certainly received high praise.
Adding a level of reliability is the location itself. “There was unprecedented access to the truck,” says producer Jerry Brookheimer. The production could be filmed on tracks such as the French circuit Paul Ricardo and the UK Silverstone Circuit, but it would be filmed during actual events such as the 2023 British Grand Prix Weekend and the 24 Hour Daytona in 2024. It’s done. A perk of working with Formula 1 and its team to make a film.
Cast, Creative, Release Date
The film’s cast includes Javier Bardem, Kelly Condon, Tobias Menzies and Kim Bodonia. Behind the scenes, the film takes home many Top Guns. Maverick’s creatives include screenwriter Ehren Kruger, composer Hans Zimmer and film director Claudio Miranda.
F1 will open at US cinemas on June 25th and Australian cinemas on June 26th.
