The MCU travels and expands through animation and history of Wakandan. Marvel has released the official trailer for Eyes for Wakanda, the four-part limited series that debuted on Disney+ on August 1st. Look up and see more details.
The show, led by Black Panther storyboard artist-turned director Todd Harris, shines the spotlight on Hatu Zelazé, a secret warrior faction in Wakanda, who is tasked with acquiring vibranium artifacts from around the world.
If you think Doramiraje is fierce, wait until you meet these warriors. Set for various periods, the series follows operatives on a dangerous global mission that slams enemies on the dare to steal from Wakanda. Just as the trailer bullies, some of these enemies are not just in this world…or even in this dimension.
First, look at the new iron fist
Among the biggest trailer surprises? The first official MCU look of Iron Fist – not Danny Land. The new female incarnation of the iconic character creates a short but eye-catching look towards the edge of the trailer. She is voiced by Jonah Xiao and Marvel has not confirmed details of her version, but it is clear that this is not a simple Easter egg. Will Wakanda’s eyes tease an even more mysterious crossover?
Also, a glimpse into the trailer is what appears to be multiple black panthers over time, opening doors for more lineage lore and connections to the wider Wakandan heritage.
Who is behind the series?
Todd Harris will be the director, and the executive will create Wakanda’s eyes and will step down from credits in the arts division of Black Panther, Wakanda Forever and Criminal. The series is an executive produced by Ryan Coogler, Kevin Feige, Brad Winderbaum, Louis Dosposito and Dana Vazquez Eberhardt. It is also a proximity media production with Marvel, a Coogler’s ongoing development agreement.
The series features voices such as Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, Patricia Belcher, Lynn Whitfield, Isaac Robinson Smith, Gary Anthony Williams, Steve Toussaint and Annika Noni Rose.
