For Disney Lorcana fans, a new year means new cardboard goodness. The next set ‘Winter Spell’ will be released in Australia in just two weeks. On February 13, 2026, Australian Lorcana collectors and players will have a ton of new cards to dig into and pursue, with Winter Spell’s theme centered around…well…winter. It’s a bit of a polar opposite for us here, but a cool, refreshing breeze with new mechanics, illustrations, and a return to traditional board wipes is welcome!
So, we’re excited to announce that we have a special Winter Spell card to share with you… So here it is:
Blue Smoke is a new Sapphire item card appearing in Winter Spell. Common Rarity, Ink Cost 1, No Ink – You’ll probably see this card pop up a bit as you rip some packs. As for its mechanics, this card has two abilities available – “Enter the Theater,” which requires you to pay 1 less ink to play this item if you have a character named Darkwing Duck in play, and “Cloud of Mystery,” which requires players to pay the cost to cast Blue Smoke, pay 1 ink, then exile this card, and choose which character receives the ward ability until the start of their next turn. Not bad at all! A potentially free to play card. It’s great that it synergizes with Darkwing Duck and gives one of your characters a ward that protects them from any actions or abilities you choose.
The Blue Smoke illustration was created by artist Hannah Augustine and features the mysterious silhouette of everyone’s favorite caped duck hero, enveloped in his signature blue smoke screen.
As always, we’re super excited to dive into this next set and can’t wait for Winterspell to launch on February 13th. The Oceania portion of Disney’s Lorcana Challenge is just around the corner, with the event taking place at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on February 21st and 22nd. If you would like to participate as a competitor or participant, get your tickets now from TAK Games. And that’s right…Winter Spell cards are legal to play in the event, so be happy to rip them and hope you get all the cards you’re chasing!
