The world-famous Hobbiton movie set was transformed into a wonderland as cast, filmmakers and fans gathered to celebrate the upcoming release of The Lord of the Rings: The Battle of the Rohirrim.
Following the film’s New Zealand premiere at Hoitu Te Awa, the Hobbiton event was held in the lush greenery of Middle-earth, offering an unforgettable evening of live performances and delicious food. .
On arrival, the talent will be treated to a moving powhiri (traditional Maori welcome ceremony) that celebrates New Zealand’s rich cultural heritage, where the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films first originated. I was welcomed. Guests took a guided tour of Hobbiton and got a behind-the-scenes look at the iconic film set that continues to be a symbol of Tolkien’s fantastical world.
The night featured performances by New Zealand’s Drax Project and a special rendition of the new single ‘The Rider’ from the film’s soundtrack by up-and-coming artist Paris Paloma. Additional entertainment included stilt-walking wizards, fire performers, juggling hobbits, fiddlers, flute players, and horseback riding to evoke the spirit of Rohan.
‘Squid Game 2’ comes to St Kilda Beach
The second season of Netflix’s hit Squid Game had its world premiere in Seoul, South Korea, and 200 creepy Squid Game security guards descended on Melbourne’s St Kilda Beach.
This is the first of three takeovers of iconic Australian landmarks to promote the release of Squid Game Season 2 on December 26th.
