Endemol Shine Australia (a Banijay Entertainment company) and Screen Australia today announced the Early Career Writers Program, supported by the Writers Guild of Australia.

The initiative, a collaboration between Endemol Shine Australia and Screen Australia, will provide four early-to-mid-career Australian writers with the potential for strong career trajectories in scripted episodic storytelling a world-class screenplay program. We will provide high-level training.

Based at Endemol Shine Australia headquarters in Sydney, successful candidates will be paired with an experienced mentor for eight weeks who will not only guide them but also directly contribute to their learning and professional development. As part of the program, budding screenwriters are immersed in all aspects of script development and rotate through all the roles that make up a successful, well-functioning screenwriting department.

Sarah Richardson, Head of Scripting at Endemol Shine Australia, said: As evidenced by the success of our first Emerging Authors Program, we believe strongly in both developing and encouraging the next generation, which is fundamental to the future of our industry. ”

“We are delighted to announce the Early Career Writers Program, a unique opportunity for Australian screenwriters to gain hands-on experience within a global production company. “We highlight our commitment to developing local talent by providing the following services:” Gain high-quality training and experience in an internationally renowned screenwriting department. ”

“In partnership with Endemol Shine Australia and the Writers Guild of Australia, we are proud to support the next generation of storytellers as they hone their craft and pursue success right here in Australia,” Romia said.

This is a paid opportunity starting on Monday, November 25, 2024, and applicants must be available for the entire 8-week program period (with 2 weeks off during the holiday period). If you are not already a resident of Greater Sydney, applicants must be able to relocate and will receive support to relocate during the program.

Applications are currently being accepted and will close on Thursday 3 October 2024 at 5pm (AEST). This can be done through the Screen Australia application portal. Please refer to the guidelines here for eligibility requirements and how to apply.
