Doom Anthology is now available on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC. This $80 compilation comes with six Doom games, a replica of the BFG collection, and a Steelbook case. Announced in August, Doom Anthology was initially sold out on Amazon when pre-orders began, but was available on all platforms on release day.
The same couldn’t be said for Fallout’s Special Anthology Edition, a similar compilation released in February with a bunch of Amazon-exclusive Fallout merchandise ahead of Prime Video’s popular animated TV adaptation. The Fallout Anthology Edition sold out before its February release and has been available only through resellers since then.
Unfortunately, since this collection is digital, you’ll need to use a steelbook case to store anything other than the Doom Anthology. Doom Anthology comes with coupons that can be redeemed on Steam, PlayStation Store, and Xbox Store.

The BFG Replica is perhaps the most exciting addition to the Doom Anthology for longtime fans. The iconic gun is recreated as a 5-inch collectible with LED lights and display stand. The Steelbook’s case is pretty plain compared to the eye-catching box art often seen on Doom releases.
While some fans may appreciate the understated look of the case, they probably won’t be happy with a case that doesn’t actually contain discs or cartridges. This collection is completely digital, so you’ll have to find something else to store inside it. Doom Anthology comes with coupons that can be redeemed on Steam, PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, or Nintendo Switch eShop.

As this is a digital-only collection, the PlayStation version has PS5 and PS4, and the Xbox version has Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One versions. Microsoft owns id Software’s parent company ZeniMax Media, but the PC version includes a Steam key instead of a Microsoft Store key.
All six Doom games in this collection are included in your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription on Xbox and PC. Right now, you can get a 3-month Game Pass Ultimate prepaid code from Woot for just $36.49.
Nevertheless, Doom Anthology offers a convenient way to play the main entries in the series on modern platforms. With Doom: The Dark Ages, the prequel to the 2016 reboot, scheduled for release in 2025, it’s a good time to revisit both of the great modern Doom games.
But the old Doom games are definitely worth your time even in 2024. Doom (1993) and Doom II were re-released on the same day the Doom anthology was announced. Existing owners, including those purchasing this collection, can upgrade for free. These enhanced editions can be played at 4K resolution and 120fps on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It also features an array of additional content, including the latest Doom II campaign episode, 26 new multiplayer maps, and more. Additionally, both games now allow cross-play for deathmatches and missions. The pair currently boasts 43 deathmatch maps and a whopping 187 mission maps.
The original Doom has another exciting new release on the way. Limited Run Games is creating a new physical version of the 1995 Super Nintendo port. It will be released in 2025 in Standard Edition and Collector’s Edition format, each with a poster and instructions. The SNES cartridge release of Limited Run of Doom isn’t available to order yet, but you can find it here when it’s released.
