Dbrand has lifted the lid on its long-awaited Darkplates 2.0 for PS5 Slim, and there are more differences than expected.
For this initial model, launched in black, instead of the four plates released by Sony, Dbrand has stuck with a two-plate design, which makes the Slim quite similar to the original PS5. (Although it is slim).
The plates can be purchased in disc or digital format and also have cutouts at the vent locations, which Dbrand says improves cooling.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about Dbrand’s PS5 plate is the fact that you can purchase a stand that closely resembles the original PS5 stand that came with the console. It has magnets in it (it only works with these plates), which solves a big problem I had with the original PS5 stand and prevents it from slipping everywhere.
PS5 Darkplates 2.0 for PS5 Slim costs $59.95 USD (~$89 AUD), with the stand available for $10 USD (~$15 AUD) when purchased together. Otherwise, the stand costs $14.95 USD (~$22 AUD). Standalone. You can purchase it here.
