Maybe the reason they’re interested in this now is because they’re staring right at us.
Rockstar appears to be pushing a new update for Bully.
As reported by RockstarIntel, dataminer Tez2 noticed that Rockstar has added a development branch of Bully to its PC client and launcher. Although the data does not indicate that any updates have been proposed yet, it is likely that one or more updates will be released in the near future.
This mobile port of the 2006 game was added to Grand Theft Auto+ in August of this year. This means if you have a Grand Theft Auto + subscription, you can play the mobile version of Bully on your PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S by logging into your account on your phone.
Rockstar also announced that it will soon bring Grand Theft Auto+ to PC with rights similar to those that PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S subscribers already have. This could mean Grand Theft Auto and PC subscribers will also be able to get the mobile version of Bully, but the move suggests they want to take advantage of the PC version. It seems to be showing.
If so, Rockstar needs to work on a fix for Bully now, as the version available for Rockstar’s PC client/launcher is buggy and prone to crashes. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who bought Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition, but that probably has something to do with it.
Rockstar may still be doing some questionable things about who gets credit for it, but they recently pushed out an update that fixes many of its collection’s issues. And while some may question whether Rockstar could have pushed these updates sooner, this news does suggest that Rockstar is currently interested in modifying older games for resale or reuse. It may suggest that
Therefore, after Rockstar successfully pushed out the Classic Lighting Update on the mobile version of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition, the Video Games Deluxe service is now available for Bully. Even if they kept it, it wouldn’t be out of the question. This is definitely speculation on our part, but how do we know? Perhaps Grover Street Games intends to work with Rockstar no matter what, and that’s why they’re doing this.
It seems highly unlikely that Rockstar itself is doing this job, as they are focused on the pending release of Grand Theft Auto 6. That launch may include a lot of things you want to sell to consumers at the same time, including new things. Grand Theft Auto + Subscription. With this, it’s no surprise that Rockstar is suddenly interested in older games again.
