The Federal Government has appointed another prominent producer to the Screen Australia board, bringing in Darren Dale for a three-year term.
A director at Blackfella Films since 2000, Dale has worked on titles such as The Dark Emu Story, Mabo, First Contact, Filthy Rich and Homeless and Redfern Now.
He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and has previously served on the boards of ACMI and the Sydney Film Festival, where he currently serves as Chairman of the Board, and also holds positions at the National Institute. Masu. of Dramatic Art (NIDA).
Dale has also held leadership positions at Screen NSW and the Australian School of Film, Television and Radio, and serves on the NSW Government’s Creative Communities Council.
His appointment follows last month’s appointment of Feisty Dame Productions founder Tania Chambers.
Arts Minister Tony Burke said Dale’s wealth of experience and knowledge in the industry would be an asset.
“Darren’s work will be familiar to many Australians, including his work on the TV series Total Control. “I was able to see it firsthand,” he said.
“As a member of the Screen Australia Board, I look forward to seeing Darren’s strong contribution to helping more Australian stories be told on screen and shared with audiences around the world.”
