Cooper Koch, who broke out in “Monsters: The Story of Lyle and Erik Menendez,” has his sights set on his next, and iconic, role.
On Saturday night at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles, Koch was asked what he wanted to do with a sequel to “Menendez” and told The Hollywood Reporter, “Luca is doing “American Psycho,” so I I think I could do Patrick Bateman.”
On Friday, it was reported that director Luca Guadagnino is in final talks with Lionsgate to direct a new film adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ 1991 novel American Psycho. The first film, released in 2000, starred Christian Bale as Bateman, an investment banker who appears to be living a double life as a serial killer.
Koch added, “I haven’t played a serial killer yet, so I think I can do it,” adding that his acting potential has skyrocketed in recent weeks since the release of the Netflix series. “Things are coming in, things are moving, things are happening, meetings are being held, the needle is going through and you can see how things are going.
