Australian talent won two categories at the Young Artist Academy Awards in Los Angeles last month, with Cathy Robb and Felix Cameron among the winners.
Cameron was recognized for his best performance in the streaming series. The Netflix series boy led the teen artist who turns as Elibel in the universe, and Rob won an award for best performance in the TV series.
Founded in 1978, the Young Artist Academy Awards celebrate performers between the ages of 5 and 18 and are the only youth awards to carry the same structure as the Academy Awards.
Rob, also known for her role as Angela in the Disney+ series The Clearing, hoped the award would help pave the way for a long career in the industry.
“I’m so happy to be recognized for the international Youth Acting Award all along since Australia,” she told IF.
“This was one of my first big TV acting roles and I’m proud to have performed well enough to win the award. I love trying out different characters and learning different genres. It’s cool to see what it’s like to be in a horror movie or fantasy.
“I really enjoy learning from acting coach Colette Mann, who has been acting for over 50 years, so I want to be as successful as her.”
This is yet another accolade for Cameron, who was a double winner at last year’s Rosie Awards, bringing home the best lead actor in the drama at the AACTA Awards earlier this year.
