Produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment and starring Kingsman star Taron Egerton, Carry On is one of Netflix’s most anticipated new films scheduled for release in 2024. Here’s everything we know about Carry On ahead of its release in December 2024.
The film will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, who has directed projects such as The Shallows, Unknown, Jungle Cruise, and Black Adam. TJ Fixman wrote the first draft of the script, and Michael Green gave it the latest polish. Fixman also currently stars in Netflix’s “Past Midnight.”
First announced in July 2022, Carry-On is one of several projects in the pipeline produced by Amblin Partners as part of an overall deal with Netflix signed in June 2021. Amblin President of Production Holly Barrio will oversee the project on behalf of Amblin Partners. studio. Brian Williams, Scott Greenberg, and Seth William Meyer are listed as executive producers. Lorne Balfe is the composer and Lyle Vincent is the cinematographer.

What is the synopsis of “Carry-On”?
The thriller centers on young TSA agent Ethan Kopech, who is blackmailed by a mysterious traveler into letting a dangerous package slip past security and onto a Christmas Day flight.
A short clip in a video montage revealed the first part of the film during Netflix’s “Next on Netflix” slate of releases.
In addition to the clip, Netflix released a first-look image still (embedded at the top of the article). We also got our hands on some screenshots of Sofia Carson and Jason Bateman in action.

Who is in the cast of Netflix’s Carry On?
Taron Egerton stars as Ethan Kopech in Netflix’s Carry On. Egerton’s latest projects include Kingsman, Rocketman, and Black Bird. Deadline’s sources say he was the only actor they met after reading about the project. He and Collet-Serra hit it off immediately and signed a contract soon after.

What is the production status of Carry On?
Netflix’s Carry On was originally scheduled to begin filming in the United States on September 26, 2022 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Cleveland, Ohio. According to Production Weekly #1309, production was tentatively scheduled to end on December 16, 2022.
However, it wasn’t until October 18th that social posts began to surface that production had begun. Taron Egerton posted on October 18th, “First day of school!” Thanks to the Instagram updates of the great Instagram account Carry On, they were able to find numerous photos from the set and from various actors during production. Author TJ Fixman provided an update via Instagram on November 16, 2022, stating:
“Today I talked to a character I created, stood by the gate of an airline I created, and witnessed a crime that I had planned in my head about 10 years ago. I tried it out and it was pretty cool.”
Filming continued through the new year, with Gentilly Messenger reporting that filming took place in New Orleans in early January 2023.
When is the release date of “Carry-On” on Netflix?
The film first received a release date notice when Netflix announced a series of upcoming action films and series in May 2023, but ultimately it was not released in 2023. Instead, it was released as part of Netflix’s next installment in February 2024. , Netflix confirmed that the movie would be released at some point, and finally confirmed the release date as August 28th.
Carry-On will be released worldwide on Netflix on Friday, December 13, 2024. The movie has a running time of 1 hour and 59 minutes and is rated PG-13.
