F1: The Movie, a big new trailer has been dropped for the upcoming racing drama where Brad Pitt step into the fast-paced world of F1. Top Gun: Maverick’s filmmaker Joseph Kosinski, the film was partially filmed over the actual Grand Prix weekend. Look up.
Pitt stars as Sony Hayes, a former racing genius whose promising career was shortened by the 90s crash. Now a drifting veteran on the circuit, he is pulled back to Formula 1 when his old teammate (now team owner Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem) asks to help save his hard-working team. Sonny returns to the race with Rising Rokie Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), but finds himself facing an old ghost.
The trailer teases a blend of smooth racing footage and character-driven dramas, and also features an ensemble cast of Kelly Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodonia and Bardem. Kosinski and his team, including a team of producers featuring Jerry Brookheimer, seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton and Pitt himself, are clearly aiming to bring out the balance between the big screen scenes and storytelling that made Top Gun.
Details of the film’s soundtrack have also been revealed. F1: The album, which arrives on June 27th, features new music from a wide range of mixes of artists such as Ed Sheeran, Rose, Ray, Burna Boy, Tisto, Tate McRae, Chris Stapleton, Dom Dora, Madison Beale and Peggy Go, along with the film’s US release. Don Toliver’s Losy My Mind, featuring its first single, Doja Cat, has launched its campaign. The original score for this film comes from outside of master composer Hans Zimmer.
