Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reported today (with confirmation from Sony) that Bluepoint Studios and Bend Studios were both working on live service games for the PlayStation, but those have now been canceled. Ta.
“Sony Group’s PlayStation has canceled unreleased games at two of its major subsidiaries, the company announced Thursday,” a Bloomberg report said.
Jason went on to report that the Blue Point game was actually a live service God of War game that had been in development for several years (Sony has not confirmed this). This is a shame, since Bluepoint has worked on several remakes, including Shadow of the Colossus and Demon’s Souls, and this was supposed to be their first original game.

It’s unclear what kind of game Bend was working on, but it’s clearly devastating for the studio to not be allowed to make a sequel coming from Days Gone.
In a memo to staff (seen by Bloomberg), Sony said: “We are working closely with Bend and Bluepoint to determine their next projects and are doing everything we can to minimize the impact to their business. We plan to do so.”
