Big New ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Trailer reveals James Cameron’s next epic

A big new trailer has landed for James Cameron’s third trip to Pandora, Avatar of Fire and Ashes. Check out the trailer above and read the essentials.

Dangerous Navi movement

Pandora is no longer just fighting humans. Varang (Oona Chaplin) leads the Ashes people. They are the hard-hitting Navi clan, forged by volcanic catastrophe and the conviction that fire is “the only pure thing.” Their crusades clash with Jake Sally (Sam Worthington), Natiri (Zo Saldanya) and their families, but Colonel Quacch (Steven Lang) finds a common cause for spreading the burn. Another wrinkle: The Spider (Jack Champion) appears to be able to breathe Pandora’s air. If that’s not a one-off then it’s a game changer.

Beyond forests and coral reefs, the world expands to wind traders – Skyroaming Navi can be seen more in the fourth film – David Theuris makes his debut as Trader Paylac. There is a TorqueMact beat designed to sit with longtime fans, hoping for a collision with fresh creatures across the jungle, ocean and sky.

Cast and creative team

Returning cast includes sightings of Giovanni Livigi as Parker Selfridges, including Worthington, Saldanya, Lang, Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet, Bailey Bass, British Dalton, Trinity Bliss, Jack Champion and Eddie Falco. New faces include Chaplin’s Varang and Thewlis’s Peylak. (By the way, Michelle Yeo is set to appear in Avatar 4.)

Cameron returns to writing and is co-written with director scribes Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. The trio developed a story with Josh Friedman and Shane Salerno. The Return of Creative includes Simon Franglen, composer of Way of Water Of Water, and film director Russell Carpenter.

Avatar box office revenue

The 2009 Avatar Still (!) led the global box office revenue with over USD 2.9 billion. Avatar: Way of Water (2022) reached USD 2.3 billion and sat behind Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame (USD 2.7 billion). Hope the sequel approaches Endgame tally with the way the flow returns to cinemas in October.

release date

Avatar: Fire and Ash is scheduled to open at Australian cinemas on December 18th and US cinemas on December 19th.
