Dying Light 2 just keeps getting better, State of Decay 3 is in development, and Left 4 Dead 2 recently celebrated its 15th anniversary. This year has been a good year for the zombie FPS genre. So what about Back 4 Blood? Developed by Turtle Rock, the same studio that developed L4D within Valve, the game has enjoyed quiet success on Steam for the past four years, but it’s still far above the spiritual heights of its predecessor. It did not reach. The number of players is constant. User reviews range from positive to mixed. Perhaps if Turtle Rock had a chance to make a new Back 4 Blood, they might be able to fix all the small (and not-so-small) problems that held their debut back. Based on some new clues, that may be happening soon. There’s a good chance that Back 4 Blood 2 is in development.
Last time we reported on Back 4 Blood, the zombie FPS game had made a brief resurgence on Steam, with over three times the average number of concurrent players. Well, there’s reason to believe a sequel is in the works. It starts with the resume of Jesse Hutch, an actor and stunt performer whose credits include Dead By Daylight and Gears of War. Hatch’s resume also includes something called “Gobi 2,” which was apparently created by Turtle Rock.
That in itself may not seem like a big deal, but as reported by mp1st, if you check the update history for Back 4 Blood on SteamDB, you’ll notice that previous versions of the Zombie game (likely the release version it was used for testing) You can see that the previous build) was found. The code name was “Gobi”.
So we have stunt performers who have worked on video games, and apparently they’re working on a new project with Turtle Rock, the creators of Back 4 Blood, and the code name for that project is a combination of the original Back 4 Blood and ” They are the same except for the “2”. end.
This theory certainly holds true, but we’ll have to wait and see. Meanwhile, Left 4 Dead 2 recently celebrated its birthday in style.
