James Cameron is back in Pandora. And this time it’s set fire. Official Trailer for Avatar: Chapter 3 of the epic sci-fi franchise, Fire and Ash, dropped online after his theatrical debut. We’re back with Jake Sally (Sam Worthington), Natiri (Zoe Saldanya), and the Sally family. For now, new threats are erupting on the frontiers of Earth’s volcanoes.

The ashes rise up – and they are not here to help
Fire and ashes introduce other Navi, Mankwan, or Ash people before the Omatikaya and the reef Metkaina clans who live in the forest. However, unlike its predecessor, the family is not friendly with Jake’s family. The ashes, led by the dreaded valan (Oona Chaplin), live in a scorched volcanic landscape and appear to be out of line with Colonel Miles Quarch.
The trailer gives us some engraved glimpses of quarches, making sure he’s not doing it with Sally. There is also a series of anticipated shows of show-stopping visuals, including space backgrounds, creatures that shine like jellyfish, creatures that return talkun, and brutal hand-to-hand combat between abandoned in.
The emotional undercurrents from the water path have not diminished. Jake and Neitilli continue to be overwhelmed by grief after the death of their son Netyam. Once tensions are built within the family, it is clear that the previous fight is not only physical, but the emotional wounds are still bleeding. “You can’t live this way, baby. In hate,” Jake tells Natiri.
Cameron’s team returns to another round
Behind the camera, Cameron stays in the director’s chair. He also co-written the script with Avatar: Water scribes Rick Jaffer and Amanda Silver from the stories developed by the trio alongside Josh Friedman and Shane Salerno.
Simon Franklen returned mid-water to compose scores after work, but Cameron’s longtime cinematographer Russell Carpenter also returned behind the lens.

Avatar: Fire and Ashes will begin at Australian cinemas on December 18th and with a US film on December 19th.
