Nintendo Switch 2 Home Screen The most interesting thing ever is definitely the home screen. It’s pretty similar to the original Nintendo Switch, but the game cards are rounded, with some new items along the bottom, and new multi-colored circles around them. Screen producer Australia has cast support behind ABC’s plea for increased funding, claiming that the quality of cultural production in Australia’s screen content is directly related to the strength of public broadcasters. In a speech to the Melbourne Press Club in early April, ABC Chairman Kim Williams said that despite the increase in 2024, ABC funding was “$150 million less than 2013.” “In 2000, ABC funds accounted for 0.31% of federal spending. “Today, it’s about 0.12% and we’re being asked to do more with it.” Opposition leader Peter Dutton foresaw an ABC efficiency review if elected. He couldn’t answer when…

There was a lot of information between Nintendo’s Switch 2 Nintendo Direct last week, so this week Nintendo Director of Mario Kart World lost (or forgot) what’s going on, and hasn’t allowed (or forgot) to reveal any details about the game. I got a small taste of Mario Kart World on Switch 2 Direct. While we were able to make the new Grand Prix mode, knockout tours and free roaming (you can read the preview here) practical, it’s clear that it’s just hooked the surface on the Switch 2 release title. Savings of sunlight means that this is currently happening…

Plenty of titles in this industry become victims of their success. Few ever become such cultural hotbeds that raise the bar, challenge the medium, and become such a fuel for controversy like the legacy of the famed Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II. Originally released on PS4 mid-2020, it was coming hot off the heels of its PR nightmare that included comprehensive footage leaking of its gameplay and story, excessive fan backlash ranging from gender politics to death threats on the crew, sensationalist media concerns of its ultra-violence, and the burnout developers and crew on a crunch…

From humble beginnings to international recognition, the Australian R6 scene carries its place in the global ecosystem. Development of the R6 eSports in Australia began around 2017, and small community tournaments laid the foundation for ultimately becoming a structured, competitive environment.
