Kirby Bentley continued to prove himself to be a formidable force in Australian Survivor: Titans V Rebels, as he commanded the season’s most game-changing blindside and won an Immunity Challenge.
Her social skills and keen strategic eye may be among the strongest in the series’ history, but her ability to master the game isn’t the result of a preconceived game plan.
“I didn’t watch anything. I didn’t know anything about the game,” Kirby told WHO, adding that her appearance on Australia’s most-loved reality show was completely by chance.
“It inspired me because I was originally into sports. It challenged me and helped me grow and learn. Since I stopped, I’ve felt a little flat and not feeling well. I saw it come up and I thought it was on LinkedIn, so I applied. I just wanted to know where I was in my life.”
The 37-year-old AFLW star and Sport Australia Hall of Famer is no stranger to physical and mental strain, but Kirby said Survivor offers challenges she has yet to overcome. He revealed that he gave it to me.
“I looked at[Survivor]as a society and people on a smaller scale. Given my life experience, sports background, and the diversity of the cast, I didn’t know how I would act in that kind of space. I think I just wanted to know.”

From managing alliances to creating strategic plays between tribes after tribe merging, Kirby consistently plays to the top of the pack and quickly stands out from his fellow contestants for his integrity and interpersonal skills. I earned respect.
“I got to know people on a deeper level, which meant I connected on a different level than the superficial level you see around camp. As a result, I was able to walk up to someone and say, ‘ We’re now able to say, ‘We know we’re here.'” We’re not working together, but will you accept us? ” Kirby said.
“I tried to leverage people’s skills and be able to connect on their level…and not bring them into my game or what I wanted. The suggestions were very helpful. Even if I suggest something, if they feel in control and empowered to run the game, I will fully cooperate with them.”

Later in the game, Kirby joins forces with his former rival Feras Basal to forge a new alliance, pushing both of them to the final two spots. Even though their collaboration created Survivor’s most seamless blindside, Ferrus remained Kirby’s strongest competitor. Ferrus was fully aware of the idea by the time Kirby was defeated.
Reflecting on the duo’s final strategy conversation, Kirby said: I think my last comment or my last attempt was, “Nobody here wants to stand next to me at the end because I don’t think they think they can beat me.” ”
“When he said, ‘I’m not scared,’ he looked at the jury and realized that maybe it wasn’t going to go his way. So I think that was the turning point (in his loss).”

Unfortunately for Kirby, her plan to stand alongside Ferrus in search of the Sole Survivor did not come to fruition, with the former Rebel receiving four out of five votes at Tribal Council.
While her elimination may come as a huge surprise and disappointment to a new wave of devoted fans, Kirby hopes her time on Australian Survivor will give those watching the courage to embrace the next challenge. I hope that.
“I hope they can understand their abilities. This is more of an athlete’s perspective, but you can’t play the game like everyone else… You just have to pick yourself up and play like you did last season. Play the game for what it gives you, not the outcome.”
