Ubisoft today announced that Assassin’s Creed: Shadows has been postponed from its November release date and will now be released on February 14, 2025.
The company says the game is functionally complete, but has taken what it learned from Star Wars Outlaws to allow for additional time to polish the title and change some of the decisions made regarding its release model. I plan to.
The game will no longer have a traditional season pass model and will be available to all players on February 14th, with players who pre-ordered the game getting free access to the first expansion.
The game was also released on Steam on day one, and this seems to be the case for all Ubisoft games going forward.

A statement about the game on Twitter read:
“Assassin’s Creed Shadows is a dream project for us. The series is finally here in Feudal Japan, with many features developed with the community in mind, including parkour and new stealth brought on by new technology. , all set in a beautiful and immersive world, is an ambitious addition to the franchise and a rich experience experienced through the eyes of two unique protagonists. We recognize that we need more time to hone and refine the experience to take some of our features even further.
Therefore, we have decided to postpone the release date to February 14, 2025. The game will be released on a wide range of platforms, including Steam at launch. Additionally, pre-orders will be refunded and all future pre-orders will receive the first expansion for free.
We know this decision will be disappointing news, especially for those who have been patiently waiting for an Assassin’s Creed game inspired by feudal Japan, but we believe this is in the best interest of the game and ultimately We sincerely believe that it is also what is best for your experience as a player. . Rest assured, we are looking forward to the moment when you embark on an unforgettable adventure with Naoe and Yasuke.
Until then, we appreciate your continued support. Marc-Alexis Côté, on behalf of all the teams working on Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. ”
