An unburied past
Julie (Hause) lives quietly on a Greek island, leaving behind her former life and her previous life, until the past knocked loudly and violently. After all, she wasn’t running from everyone. She is a trained murderer and has never forgotten the people she crossed.
The person dragged into the fallout is her estranged son, Edward (Freddie Highmore). He spent most of his life on questions, and now he gets the answers he never asked. Mother and son are forced to run together and must deal with secrets, violence and the intertwined chaos of the past that refuse to let go.
Once they dodge danger across boundaries, they begin to reconnect, initially, in the beginning, but their bond is tested every turn. The threat that comes after them may not be the only one that can tear them apart.
Big names, big places, big tension
Created by writing duo Harry and Jack Williams (tourist, missing) and produced by photographs of their two brothers (Fleabag, Boat Story), the series also brings together solid support cast including Shalom Brune-Franklin, Devon Terrell, Alan Dale, Gina Gershon, Jack Davenport, Richard Dermer and David Dencik.
For Haws, filming proved to be a highlight. “We feel very fortunate to spend our summers in the amazing Freddie Highmore and Athens and be surrounded by such high caliber cast and crew,” she said in a statement. “It was an absolute joy to bring Jack and Harry’s epic script back to life. Going to work wasn’t that fun.”
Highmore also shared his excitement. “Greek adventures won’t get better with the lovely and unparalleled Keely Haws. I’m really excited to get a glimpse of some of the things we’ve been doing. Episode!”
