Beyond scripted development and production executives, Melinda Warene was promoted to scripted head and succeeded David Ogilby, who will move into the role of executive producer ten years later.
Wearne joined Beyond in 2016 and has been working for nearly seven years since spending two years as a producer for children and families. Most recently she produced the ABC drama The Family Next Door, produced by Muse Entertainment, which became the fastest growing commissioned drama premiere on the ABC Iview streaming platform.
In her new position, she will work with Ogilby and executive producer Tony Kavanaugh.
She said it was an honor to step into the role and continue working with Ogilvy and the wider team.
“Beyond has an exceptional slate of scripted projects at different stages of development. We look forward to working with our creative collaborators to bring these works to our global audience.”
Ogilvy, who created titles such as Pulse, Halifax: Retribution, and Troppo, described Wearne as “an exceptional colleague.”
“I’m excited that she agreed to take on the role of director of the script,” he said.
“We look forward to continuing to work with the exciting Slates of the project currently under development.”
Boglund said that the scripted drama has always been a priority for the company when he was welcomed into the role.
“David has made an outstanding contribution and I am grateful that he will continue as an executive producer, as he handed the reins to Melinda.
