Anna Kendrick has opened up about the abuse she experienced during her seven-year long-term relationship with an anonymous ex-boyfriend.
The 39-year-old actress and Pitch Perfect star appeared on the podcast Call Her Daddy this week and talked about filming Alice Darling, a psychological drama and thriller about emotional abuse that will be released in 2022. talked about.
Kendrick first explained that he didn’t tell those close to him that he was making a film about emotional abuse because he “had just gotten out of a relationship that was very similar to the movie.”

“I never told anyone in my life…not even my therapist or close friends that I was making this movie about emotional abuse because I had just gotten out of a relationship that was very similar to the movie. “I didn’t say that,” she said.
“And I didn’t want anyone to tell me not to do it, and I didn’t want anyone to tell me to stop doing it.”
Kendrick said she and her ex-girlfriend had been together for seven years, but it was like an “overnight switch.”

“This didn’t follow a traditional pattern, which is another reason why I found it really difficult to identify and name it as abuse,” she said.
“I read all the articles and thought, ‘This seems different, some of it looks like they’re describing it, but not quite.'”
“We had been in a relationship for seven years, but it was like a switch was flipped overnight…and it lasted about a year. So we didn’t go with anything traditional. It’s like a frog in hot water and it starts slowly. It was something like that.”

Kendrick said they went to therapy and she became convinced it was all her fault and that he was “crazy.”

“For example, if one of us is crazy, it has to be me. So to actually say, ‘No, I think this is him. I think this is his.’ It’s been extremely difficult. I’ve completely turned my life upside down and I’m trying to fix whatever was wrong with me,” she said.

This comes after Kendrick said in a new interview with The Flow Space that she is happily a “childless cat lady.”
Speaking about her decision not to have children, she told the publication that she believes the burden of raising children falls primarily on the mother’s back and that this is one of the reasons she doesn’t want to go down that path. spoke.

Kendrick previously revealed that she had conceived an embryo with her ex-husband, who was “apparently my husband”.
