Adria Arjona and Michael B. Jordan
Tohmask Roun Affair has found a new, first-class woman. Adria Arjona (Andor, Hit Man) starred opposite Michael B. Jordan in the famous remake of Amazon MGM, and goes into the co-lead role just days after Taylor Russell (Bones and All, All, Waves) left the project.
Russell left the film earlier this month due to “creative differences.” No further details have been confirmed, and it remains unclear whether the disagreement stems from her personality, script, or broader aspects of her production.
Filming was already underway in London, and the studio quickly moved to remake parts. Variety reported that Russell’s exit was triggering a call from the talent rep, reporting that he wanted to throw the client’s name into the ring.
Arjona’s casting comes in a strong career run. She played a key role in Andru in the Star Wars series, playing twice in Zoe Kravitz’s thriller Brink and starred in Richard Linklater’s hitman opposite Glenn Powell. Her upcoming projects include Splitsville, the Prime Video Series Criminal, and Action Horror Striller Onslaught, opposite Dakota Johnson.
Details regarding the rethinking of the Tohmask Roun incident are kept under the wrap. The 1968 original starred Steve McQueen as a Souve Thief and Faydanaway as an Insurance Agent on his trail. Also directing the new version, Jordan takes the lead as Crown, the character portrayed by Pierce Brosnan in the 1999 remake. This marked Jordan’s second feature as the director following Creed III, and he also starred.
The ensemble cast also includes Kenneth Branagh, Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurila, Piru Asbeck and Aisha Hart. The script is by Drew Pierce (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Hobbs & Shaw) and has worked in previous drafts by Wes Touke and Justin Britt Gibson. The film is produced by Jordan and Elizabeth Raposo for the Outlily Society and by Charles Roven, Patrick McCormick and Mark Toberov for Atlas Entertainment. Allan Trustman, who wrote the original in 1968, is an executive producer.
This new take on Thomascrounge Affair is scheduled for a US theatrical release on March 5th, 2027.
