Nine AFTRS graduates will undertake 13-week paid internships at ABC, BBC Studios, Endemol Shine Australia, Eureka Productions, SBS and Wildbear Entertainment as part of the school’s annual graduate program.
This initiative is designed to build connections and career paths, supporting creative and multi-skilled graduates of the Bachelor of Arts Screen: Production as they transition into industry.
Among this year’s alumni, Saskia Fanis (Children and Families – Development Internship) and Tyler Kang (Documentary and Specialist – Junior Research Fellow/Production Internship) will be joining ABC. Alec Carter (Scripted Production Internship) and Gemma Teinsch (Unscripted Development Internship) are joining BBC Studios. Kristin Beukes (Production Internship) joins Endemol Shine Australia. Lauren Harry (Production Internship) joins Eureka Productions. Akaysha Morgan (Production Internship) is joining SBS. Christopher Deighan (Post Production Internship) and Lara Brighton (Production Management Internship) are joining WildBear Entertainment.
All of this year’s industry partners returned for at least the second year in a row.
AFTRS CEO Dr Nell Greenwood said she was “incredibly proud” to see students step into roles with such esteemed industry partners.
“AFTRS graduate programs are an important bridge between learning and employment, giving job-ready graduates the opportunity to prove their skills and build lasting connections, often leading to future employment,” she said.
“We are extremely grateful for the continued commitment of our industry partners who recognize that after three years of on-the-job training, student production and industry placement at AFTRS, BA students are in the perfect position to hit the ground running.”
