As Animation Studio seeks to expand its production services internationally, Cheeky Little has promoted Abby Dorrian to head of global partnerships.
The move follows the international success of cocky little pieces like Ginger and Vegesaurs, which were recently released in the US on PBS. The BBC is participating as a joint commissioning partner with ABCs for Seasons 4 and 5, which are currently in production.
Dorrian joined the cocky Little late last year and was originally hired to lead creative partnerships and studio development. She will focus on deepening partnerships with studios, streamers and brands seeking production services.
“Things are moving at speed with cheeky little and fast. It’s a joy to represent them on the world stage. They have a strong track record of building brands and placing them in culture through their own original IP or serving others in the family market,” she said.
“They have a proven history of designing unique characters and worlds that resonate with their audiences everywhere. In an age where technology is mutating, we are determined to seek deep human connections.
Before joining the cocky Little, Dorian represented an international directorial roster for British and European sweet shops before moving to Australia to cultivate the mint film roster. She has also worked as a professional narration artist for over 20 years, taking on other previous roles, including the new business head of APAC head at Smith & Western Sound Studios, focusing on composition and sonic branding. She judged Shot Awards APAC and Arias.
In addition to Ginger and Vegesaurs S4 and S5, Cheeky Little is currently in production for Flower & Flour, a new international co-production with Canadian shipwrecks, directed by Cindy Scharka and produced by Celine Goetz, a collaboration with Flying Bark and co-directed by David Webster.
