Blusky user dootsky discovered the new Nintendo Switch 2 model number on Nintendo’s official account portal.
The Switch 2 model code is OSM, which is different from the Switch 2 model code, which is BEE. An image of the Switch 2 appears, confirming that this is indeed the Switch 2 model of the original Switch.
I feel like I discovered something interesting, but I don’t know what it means. There is an unused model code in the Nintendo account portal with the name “OSM”. (The model code for Switch 2 is BEE.) The portal has images for each switch model, and requesting OSM returns the image for Switch 2.

It’s unclear what this new model is, but it’s widely theorized that it could be the Switch 2 Lite, or a model released to help keep the Switch 2 at a low price heading into the second holiday period, as Switch 2 prices are likely to rise due to the massive RAM shortages affecting the tech world this year.
I don’t think this will lead to an imminent announcement, but Nintendo is definitely working on a future Switch 2 model, and with the tech sector set to see a big price hike this year, this makes a lot of sense.
I’ll let you know here if there is any progress. Of course, there could be nothing, but that seems unlikely considering all the other model numbers present on the website are directly related to existing models.
