ABC, Screen Australia, and the Children’s Television Foundation (ACTF) have announced two new Children’s Series using the Australian Children’s Content Summit.
Co-created and written by Alix Beane and Marisa Nathar, Happy House sets out in a world where internet-famous animals are creators of their own adorable viral content. The series follows a crew of teen animal content creators as they navigate friendships, rivals and nasty crashes while juggling the pressure of being a teen in the digital age. Media World Pictures is producing this series. The series features 12 field animation animations and is directed by Kelly Lynagh. Vicscreen supports production.
In Caper’s crew, the quiet life of Amelia and Kai Delaney is defeated when their confessionist grandmother, Queen, mysteriously appears, teaches the art of Grift and causes a precious Woodspring Nag hunt.
Easy Tiger’s first children’s series, Caper Crew stars Isabella Zhang, Caitlin Neimotko, Luka Sero and Tevita Hau. Guy Edmonds is the setup director and works with directors of Stef Smith and Shelly Lauman. Keith Thompson, Matthew Whittet, Amy Stewart, Jack Yabsley and Erica Harrison wrote the series.
Both series have major production investments from Screen Australia and ACTF, which will also be distributed. They will air on ABC in 2026.
ABC screen director Jennifer Collins said the two new series featured the station’s commitment to “world-class children’s stories.”
“Happy House dives into the content creator culture with keen humor and fun, and Capeparkru brings mystery and mayhem with Australia’s unique eccentricity,” she said.
Bernadette O’Mahony, ACTF’s content director, said the two projects are “fresh, smart, original and will become a family favorite.”
“Happy House is a hilarious, whipping animation involving kids, while Cape Park Roo is a quirky, comedy-driven live action series that keeps speculating on the audience,” she said.
“Both series have a lot of laughs and resonates with the audience here and worldwide.”
Louise Goff, director of Screen Australia’s story content, said the series “expands the canon of high-quality Australian stories for kids here and around the world.”
“We look forward to supporting Easy Tiger’s first foray into children’s content with Cape Parkru, a live-action series filled with adventure and hearts.
“Media World Pictures’ Animated Happy House is a timely view of happiness in a modern online world in a fun and adorable way.”
