Nintendo held a 20+ minute Nintendo Direct overnight focused on Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream, revealing that it will be released on April 16, 2026 for the original Nintendo Switch.
The game takes place once again on an open southern island inhabited by Mii. In terms of new features, you now have direct control over how your Miis interact with each other, more customization for Mii Maker, and the addition of ears.
Other changes include the ability to form same-sex relationships in-game, choose between male, female, or non-binary dating preferences, and choose one or more dating options.
The game is a Nintendo Switch game and will obviously be playable on the Nintendo Switch 2, although it’s unclear if there will be any enhancements (such as higher resolution).
Following the Nintendo Direct, Nintendo confirmed that certain image sharing features will have limitations and will be closely monitored in line with Nintendo’s game content guidelines.
