HBO Max Hypes 2026 releases with new promos: ‘Euphoria’, ‘House of the Dragon’, ‘Lanterns’ and more

HBO Max is touting its plans for next year. The streamer unveiled a two-minute hype reel spotlighting its 2026 schedule, offering first looks, quick teases, and snippets of some of its biggest upcoming series. Spanning prestige drama, fantasy, DC, and comedy, Euphoria Season 3, DC’s Lantern, and House of the Dragon Season 3 all add a few more pieces to what the service is calling its “biggest year ever.” Watch the promo above, then read on for more information on what’s to come.

A major franchise is back in the spotlight

The promo focuses on familiar heavy hitters and offers just enough content to remind viewers why these worlds still matter. Euphoria Season 3 features fleeting but tension-filled moments that mark a return to the show’s heightened emotional intensity ahead of its April debut. The cast includes Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sidney Sweeney, Alexa Demme, Hunter Schaefer, and more.

House of the Dragon season 3 also makes its presence known, teasing the next phase of the Targaryen civil war as the series deepens the civil war – HBO has already renewed it for season 4. Also from the world of George R.R. Martin is Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which is set a century before Game of Thrones and seems poised for a more character-driven journey through Westeros when it arrives in January.

Meanwhile, Dune: Prophecy Season 2 hints at deeper political and spiritual tensions within the Bene Gesserit order.

New original and tonal curve ball

HBO Max Reels works not only to bring back popular titles, but also to sell a wide range of products. The Lantern is positioned as a grounded, Earth-focused DC story that follows Green Lanterns John Stewart (played by Aaron Pierre) and Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) as investigators caught up in something darker and more intimate than the spectacle of space. This is one of the most interesting moments of this promotion.

Shifting tone elsewhere, DTF St. Louis stars David Harbor and Jason Bateman and is teased as a darkly comic limited series built around midlife ennui and deadly consequences, while Rooster brings Steve Carell to a college-set comedy centered around family conflict rather than outright farce.

A year based on diversity, not just quantity.

What this promotion ultimately sells is not just scale, but confidence in it. More chapters are planned for HBO’s long-running shows like “Industry,” “The Pit,” and “The Comeback,” with newcomers joining the lineup, including the legal thriller series “War” (starring Sienna Miller and Dominic West), “The Big Bang Theory” spinoff “Stuart Can’t Save the Universe,” and Larry David’s as-yet-untitled half-hour sketch comedy limited series.

“House of the Dragon”, “Euphoria”, “Lantern”
