Geoff Keighly lit up the auditorium to kick off Game Awards 2025 with a cinematic trailer for Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic. The trailer appears to show the Jedi arriving on a devastated planet, inspecting a sunken ship, and discovering an alien creature with tentacles inside.
The game is described as an all-new single-player action role-playing game. Interestingly, the game is being helmed by game director Casey Hudson, director of the original Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect series.
Developed by Arcanaut Studios in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic is a new single-player, story-driven action RPG and spiritual successor to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
Led by Casey Hudson, game director of the original Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic and Mass Effect trilogies, Arcanato Studios’ team of veteran game developers and storytellers is crafting an epic interactive adventure set in a galaxy on the brink of rebirth, where every decision shapes the path to light or darkness.
Destiny is in your hands.
There’s no word on a release date yet, but it’s still an exciting announcement.
We look forward to more!
