EA announced Battlefield REDSEC this morning. It’s a free-to-play battle royale mode set in California backyards, beaches, and a destructible environment called Fort Lyndon.
Like other battle royale games, 100 players are dropped into the world, and the tactical destruction of the battlefield plays a huge role in how the game unfolds. As part of Redsec, there is also a new mode called Gauntlet, which is also free to play and pits eight teams of four-player squads against each other in a series of dynamic round-based objectives, with squads given five minutes to complete the objective.
“Battlefield Season 1” also launches today and is called “Rogue Operations” and features three new weapons, a new map, and a new melee combat mode called Strikepoint. This will be a season where Battlefield 6 will continue into the holiday season, and there will also be a shared battle pass with REDSEC.
Battlefield REDSEC is out now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and is once again free to play for those looking to start the experience. Available from the PlayStation Store here.
