Halo Campaign Evolved officially launched this weekend and serves as a complete remake of the original game, launching on Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PlayStation 5 in 2026.
It’s a complete remake built in Unreal Engine 5 and includes the original campaign, plus new missions, new weapons, 2-player local split-screen co-op, and 4-player online co-op.
A recent PlayStation Blog post by Halo Studios community director Brian Jarrad revealed that in addition to fresh visuals and all-new cinematics, smoother controls and movement, you’ll also have the chance to play around with nine new weapons and play three all-new prequel missions.
Do you mean PS5?
Recent rumors and general buzz have suggested for a while that this was only a matter of time. With Xbox or Xbox Game Studios providing so much exclusive content to PlayStation in the past, Halo simply feels like the last domino to fall here.
Indiana Jones: The Great Circle was initially touted as an Xbox exclusive, but a few months later it also arrived on PS5. The original Gears of War was released (again) in the form of Gears of War: Reloaded, which also released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Halo Campaign Evolved is also said to mark the beginning of a new trend of Halo games on new platforms, and is the first of what we can only assume will be additional remakes, or even full sequels, to come.
As we recently explained in our Xbox Game Pass price increase article, the brand is going through some changes, to say the least. Either way, it seems clear that Xbox doesn’t really care where you’re playing the game, as long as you’re playing the game.
Halo Campaign Evolved is scheduled to launch on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC in 2026.
