Tony Briggs and Damien Pladier’s production company Typecast has appointed Christopher Kamm as head of development.
In his new role, Kam will oversee Typecast’s slate, serve as executive producer on select projects, and guide the company’s storytelling vision across scripts.
Typecast is a multidisciplinary company specializing in Indigenous creativity across advertising, theater, broadcast, SVOD releases, as well as stage and live event production.
With over 15 years’ experience in the UK and Australia, Mr Kamm worked as a development producer at BBC Studios ANZ from 2023 to 2024, where he led the development of Paramount+’s Ghosts. Previously, he spent nine years in London as Head of Development at Eleventh Hour Films, leading the scriptwriting team and developing the company’s development strategy. Kam also served as script development director at NBCUniversal International Studios, was a studio executive on HANNA (Amazon) and The Capture seasons 1 and 2 (BBC), and was script editor on The Long Song (BBC).
He is passionate about developing new voices, establishing a partnership between Soho Theater and NBCUniversal in 2018 to create a pathway for theater talent to transition into television writing, and most recently mentored Screen Queensland’s first Writer’s Room program.

Commenting on his new role, Kam said: “I’ve long been a fan of Tony’s work. As a television executive who has lived and worked overseas, when I watched Australian content I always wanted to see more shows that represented the multicultural Australia I grew up in. Typecast’s mission is to tell stories that represent a diverse Australia and I’m excited to join the team.”
Typecast is supported by VicScreen’s First Peoples Capabilities Grant and VicScreen CEO Caroline Pitcher is delighted that Kam will be bringing his experience to Typecast.
