Netflix has dropped the official trailer for the upcoming animated film The Twits and kicked us out to Twitlandia for a terrible rampage with Roald Dahl’s sneakiest couple. Check out the trailer above and read the essentials.
story
Mrs. Twit runs the world’s most disgusting and dangerous entertainment park. As the duo tightened their grips in town, two intense orphans and a community of magical animals united to kick Twit out.

Credenza and Jim Twitt voiced by Margo Martindale and Johnny Vegas. The ensemble also features Emilia Clark (Voicing Pippa), Natalie Portman (Mary Muggle Whimp), Timothy Simmons (Marty Muggle Whimp), Jason Mantzoka (Mayor Wayne John John), Alan Tadik (Sweet Tuad Toad Toad), and Nicole Bye Bye Prokka (Mark Prokka). David Byrne wrote and produced three originals: “Ev’ryone Not Like Other Ev’ryone”, “Not Like Lullaby”, and “The Problem Is You.” Hayley Williams joins Byrne to collaborate and run the end credit track “Open The Door.”
As Williams told Netflix’s Tudum, “being part of this film is like a moment of pinch after pinch,” Byrne said he hopes for the song “It reminds me that after all the discomfort depicted by the Tuitts, there is a heart-connection to the story.”
Filmmakers and release dates
Written, directed and produced by Phil Johnston (Ralph Breaking the Internet) along with additional writings by co-directors Katie Shanahan and Todd Demon, producers Maggie Malone and Daisy West, and Meg Favreau. Animation with jellyfish photos (boss baby, bad guy).
“I love Twit and their terrible tricks,” Johnston said of his appeal to Dahl’s story. “They love their lack of self-awareness, personal hygiene, and an inkling of human decency, and this film reminds us that Twits, where default emotions are anger and vengeance, are not allowed to win in our world.”
The Twits is the first screen adaptation of Dahl’s book and the first screen of Netflix’s new Slate of Roald Dahl animation project. It will be streaming from October 17th.
