The new PS5 slim model has been deployed across all territory with some important changes, and YouTuber Austin Evans has got the model.
This is not a published update and appears to be coming in for the same price, but the new model has external and internal changes.
The biggest one on the outside is the fact that the PS5 slim has all the matte faceplates instead of being shiny on the top and matte on the bottom. The original PS5 SLIM SSD was upgraded to 1TB (from the original PS5’s 825GB), but again downgraded to 825GB.
The new PS5 slim also weighs about 120 grams lighter due to the redesigned heat sink construction made of thin metal, but this does not seem to affect the power consumption or temperature at which the console operates.
The new model is already rolling out in Europe and there are no reports yet that it has arrived in Australia (usually we are first getting a new PS5 model), but it will not be long before this will be replaced by the current 1TB slim.
If you want a PS5 Slim 1TB, it’s currently at $699 ($130 off) on Amazon, so it’s a good time to actually jump in and grab it.
