Netflix has dropped the official trailer for season 2. Kristen Bell and Adam Brody returned as Joan and Noah. Check out the trailer above and read the essentials.
Where the story recovers
Season 2 is a disappointment for every day. Joan and Noah are thinking about how to actually live together in the real world, including friends, family, everyday life and early relationship mines like holidays and birthdays. The gap between faith and culture that moved Season 1 has not disappeared. I’ve just approached my home where my options are counted.
New face, fresh trouble
Layton Meester – Brody’s real-life spouse – joins the cast as Abby. Also on the deck: Miles Fowler as Renee (set up with Noah’s Mazza Ballers teammate Morgan), Alex Kalpovsky was “Big Noah” (the overly confident rabbis of Noah’s Temple), and Arianne Moa played Moai as Dr Andy, an unexpected good stutter therapist. Regular members of his return include Justin Lupe, Timothy Simons, Jackie Tone, Darcy Carden, Michael Hitchcock, Stephanie Farassy, Paul Ben Victor and Tova Feldsch.
Creator & Cast on the Shift
Speaking to Netflix’s Tudum, creator Erin Foster laid out the terrain for Season 2.
Adam Brody’s reading about Noah’s Big Season 1 gestures still frame the stakes. He then cautions that Season 2 probes.
Behind the scenes
Erin Foster returns as creators, with Jenni Connor and Bruce Eric Kaplan intervening as showrunners and executive producers, along with executive producer Nora Silver. Konner replies, “Erin is a rare creator with a transparent voice and a truly supportive spirit. I am a true fan of Erin’s show and feel very fortunate that two of my favorites, Bruce Kaplan and Sarah Hayward, are back in their two girls’ rooms,” Foster reflects on the responses so far.
